At the AGM on 9th July 2026, an Affiliate Member category of membership was introduced for individuals who wish to retain formal connections with AEME. Affiliate membership is open to academics, researchers, practitioners, and research students with an interest in events management education, irrespective of institutional affiliation. When you apply using the form below, you will be asked to confirm the contact name who will be listed as the Affiliate member on the membership directory. This person will receive any material posted out by AEME and will be added to the AEME Jiscmail email list.

The Annual Affiliate Membership fee is £75 per year, from 6 April to 5 April the following year. It is reviewed annually at the AGM and last agreed on 9th July 2026. If you are joining from overseas the cleared funds should amount to £75 sterling. An invoice will be issued upon receipt of your application. The preferred method of payment is BACS/bank transfer, however, you can pay by BACS, cheque or credit card/PayPal.

Access to the AEME mailing list, member communications and resources
Permission to use the AEME Affiliate Member logo
Opportunity to participate in AEME Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Discounted registration for the annual AEME Conference and other AEME events
Eligibility to participate in collaborative AEME funding applications led by a Full Member institution
Opportunity to represent AEME at external events where appropriate

Affiliate Membership does not include the following:

Voting rights at the AEME Annual General Meeting
Eligibility to stand for election to the Executive Board or other governance committees
Eligibility to lead applications for AEME funding (although Affiliate Members may participate in collaborative applications led by a Full Member institution)
The complimentary conference place available to Institutional Members.
Eligibility to nominate students for the AEME Student Awards
Financial support from AEME to attend external events or undertake representative activities, which will remain a benefit of Institutional Membership
