We are pleased to announce that the Managing Director of Event Rater Ltd. (www.event-rater.com), Jonathan Fry, has become a member of AEME (Association for Events Management Education). Having gained a BA (Hons) degree in Events Management at UWIC (Cardiff Metropolitan University) in 2010, he went on to complete an MPhil research degree in 2014 with the aim of critically enhancing the original event evaluation framework adopted by the company. His research interests include event evaluation, event consumers, event technology and digital marketing. At the AEME 2017 Conference (5th-7th July 2017) at Cardiff Metropolitan University Jonathan will present an academic paper entitled "What does the event industry want to know from their customers when conducting evaluation?" on which he has been working with his research supervisors, Dr Dewi Jaimangal-Jones, Principle Lecturer in Events Management and Programme Director for BA (Hons) Events Management, and Dr Claire Haven-Tang, Reader in Tourism and Management, based within the department of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University, who are also members of the Welsh Centre for Tourism Research.
Jonathan is currently studying towards a PGCE PcET qualification at Cardiff Metropolitan University and has been teaching the new WJEC Event Operations Level 1/2 vocational qualification to Year 12 Sixth Form students through the medium of Welsh. He has also worked as an examiner and moderator for WJEC. The new specification (A) is eligible to award performance points in England (as it is on the DfE list 2019) and has been designated for teaching in Wales via Qualifications Wales from September 2017. There will be a free online CPD briefing for the Event Operations Level 1/2 vocational qualification on 22nd June 2017 (4pm-6pm).
