New book: The 21st Century Event Technologies
Joe Goldblatt, Professor of Planned Event Management at Queen Margaret University shares some thoughts regarding his new book 'The 21st Century Meeting and Event Technologies: Powerful Tools for Better Planning, Marketing and Evaluation', co-authored with Seungwon Lee, Dessislava Boshnakova and Sandra Sickels.
"For many years, each of us has been teaching meeting and event technology and our students needed a companion text book to help navigate their journey through this rapidly expanding field of study. My co authors are actually my former students and they are digital natives whereas I am a digital immigrant. Together, we believed we could bring both experience and enthusiasm to this exciting new opportunity for students to explore the history and future direction of technology for meetings and events.
The book not only looks at the 70 year history of meeting and event technology it also includes detailed explanations of how to use technology for research, marketing, registration transaction, production planning and management, production design, evaluation and much more. The book includes real life case studies of how meeting and event technology may be both a challenge and a rich opportunity."
